About the Artist

Ann is an award winning professional photographer who grew up outside of Boston, USA. As a child, Ann loved spending her days creating, playing and exploring. When she was a child she would draw pictures with watercolors and chalk. During her teen years, she discovered digital arts. She immediately fell in love with the ability to create something from nothing , and it lead her to her passion of photography.

Ann did not follow her dreams right away, her journey took many turns before she found her way to photography. As a first-generation Chinese American from a family of restaurant owners, she was raised in a hardworking immigrant household where sacrifice, resilience, and family above all else were the foundation of everyday life. Responsibility came early, and creativity often took a quiet back seat to practicality. Yet through every chapter, she could not quiet the pull to become an artist. That persistent calling, paired with the strength of her upbringing, shaped the photographer she is today — grounded, intentional, deeply observant, and committed to creating meaningful work that honors both her roots and her creative spirit.

Ann discovered photography during a dark time in her life. On a whim she brought an entry level Nikon and drove up to New Hampshire to clear her mind. While there in the quietness of the forest and mountains she fell in love with photography.

Ann loves exploring new places and capturing all the things that sees. Whether by car or plane she tries to include her family in all her trips, because the more the merrier. When she is not on an adventure capturing images She can be found at home creating even more images for her blog. She travels around the world with her favorite gear and brings home memories immortalized in her amazing photographs. Ann is also an abstract painter and lover of all types of art. Exploring museum is a favorite of hers, from wandering around the different exhibits to spending a super long time at the museum gift shop.

Over the last 13 years of my career, I have been exploring and learning constantly. I learned that knowledge of all types can translate into many fields, we can all learn from each other. I wanted to translate that into my work by showing the beauty of life in a chaotic world.

I spent some time away from photography due to burnout and injury. During that time I got bored and while healing decided to learn and train in User Experience. It made me see photography in a different light, not as something that I had to do, but wanted to truly do.
